The Documentary Company is launching its first feature length documentary FROM THE ASHES in association with New Black Films and Green Acre Films.

The film will be screened for one night on Tuesday 10th May in over 130 cinemas nationwide, with a live Q+A via satellite with Sir Ian Botham, Bob Willis, David Gower hosted by Alastair Campbell.

FROM THE ASHES tells the remarkable story of one of sport's greatest ever comebacks. Set in July 1981, rioting was rife in the streets of Britain and England were 1-0 down after two tests against their old enemy, Australia. From the Ashes follows the famous 1981 series, where Ian Botham brought England Ashes glory against odds of 500-1.

Narrated by Tom Hardy and packed with match action and interviews with Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, Mike Brearley OBE, Bob Willis, David Gower OBE, Rod Marsh, legendary umpire "Dickie" Bird MBE - From the Ashes is set over one tempestuous month, exploring the meaning of leadership and the importance of sporting victory to troubled nations. The film is directed by James Erskine (One night in Turin).
